This body of work marks the conclusion of my degree and reflects an ongoing investigation into the tensions between visibility and privacy, beauty and objectification. It considers how feminine subjects might exist beyond the gaze; in states of stillness, ambiguity, and interiority, resisting the imperative to perform, explain, or be fully disclosed.

The collection consists of two large-scale, monochromatic oil paintings that centre on the female figure while intentionally withholding narrative clarity. These works create a contemplative space that invites sustained, reflective looking. Through their scale and restraint, they encourage a viewing experience that is both intimate and distant, privileging presence over legibility.
