The body of work produced from my A-Level investigates death, stillness, and the boundaries between life and absence, drawing visual and conceptual influence from morgue photography and postmortem portraiture. The two featured paintings depict the human form in a passive supine position.

By referencing the aesthetics of the morgue, this work aims to confront the viewer with a quiet reminder of the body’s vulnerability and the transient nature of life in its most silent state and invite reflection on the subtle beauty found in moments of introspective silence.
